Helping your opponent become stronger isn't necessarily a bad thing. Just think about it, everyone gathers up to explore strategies, challenge each other, and gradually grow better. This is what makes Mahjong fun. Not to mention that a match is only fun when you have formidable opponents to play with. And I believe I'm not the only one who thinks this, most Mahjong lovers do, too.
