I still have many thoughts fluttering around my mind, but right now I can't think of a better word for him than "awesome".

Actually, I think Joseph really is embarrassed. After manically praising him so emotionally, even I'm now embarrassed for gushing so much myself, to say nothing of how he must feel! It's just his personality makes it almost easy for him to admit this.
Luckily, Joseph set an excellent example as to how to avoid awkwardness: confidence! So long as you come across confidently, and speak at a decent volume, then there's no need to let embarrassment make an awkward atmosphere!
[player] But Joseph... You'd better not treat our friendship the same as your treasures.

[player] I mean it! I worry that if I don't remind you, there will come a day when your friendships become a burden. Then you'll just leave all of us and vanish without a word.
