[-] I work my way down the list and visit Miki Nikaidou first thing in the morning, but I stumble upon a commotion outside Tenhoukaku...
[Citizen A] What do you mean? This jade has been in my family for eighteen generations!
[Citizen B] Eighteen generations?! I doubt it has even been eighteen hours since it left the factory! Real mutton-fat jade should have the luster and smoothness of my jade pendant!
[Citizen C] Wait, are you serious? If whiteness was all that mattered, I'd be selling the soaps!
[-] I barely manage to push through the crowd and finally find some peace and quiet once I step inside the store.
Tenhoukaku
[player] Phew...
[Miki Nikaidou] Oh? It's you.
[Miki Nikaidou] If you're here to play some mahjong, let's do it at the shrine tonight. I don't have the time right now.
[player] I'm not here for mahjong. Oh, you're busy right now?
[-] I quickly approach Nikaidou, and I notice her twirling a mini spatula and applying something on a maneki-neko statue.
[Miki Nikaidou] Not really. Those guests outside broke Tenhoukaku's threshold and even chipped the ear of the maneki-neko by the entrance. Talk about bad luck.
[player] Oh, who are those people out there?
[Miki Nikaidou] Just a bunch in a hurry to sell their treasures. Leave them to their petty quarrels.
[player] You don't plan to let them in to speak with you?
[Miki Nikaidou] Hehe, the best way to eat salmon is to first place a catfish in its habitat.
[player] Why is that?
[Miki Nikaidou] When two fish compete for survival, the survivor will always be tastier. The same goes for business. Once they're done, only the guest who manages to walk into Tenhoukaku is worthy of negotiations with me.
[player] The art of doing business is truly anything but simple...
[Miki Nikaidou] Anyway, to what do I owe the pleasure today, PLAYER? Don't tell me you're here to negotiate the sale of jade too? Hehe, if that's the case, the others outside are out of luck.
[player] Sigh, if only I had some jade to finish my job...
[-] I tell Miki Nikaidou about yesterday's incident...
[Miki Nikaidou] Oh my! Sounds like you really went through a lot. Is there any way I can help?
[player] I found some clues at the scene. Could I verify some things with you?
[Miki Nikaidou] Of course.
